The Ukrainian Crisis
We are just getting this cat out of the bag right away: Daemon Forest is against war, and any form of militarized aggression, or even violence overall.
And the current militarized invasion from Russia in Ukrainian territory is something that we deeply condemn.
The way this conflict is impacting the world is noticeable, from both a cultural and economic standpoint. People live in fear that “they are the next to experience the same fate”. But at the same time, we have seen some spectacles of unfathomable force, from the Ukrainian people that, even under these circumstances, are no strangers to help one another. The enormous solidary movement that is happening right now is a reflect that people nowadays, specially younger generations, are more aware of what happens in the World, and are less susceptible to be manipulated by Propaganda. And there is many circling around.
We stand in a very particular position here, as we have friends on both sides, and we now this isn’t a black and white situation. People don’t want war, people don’t want this to continue, and they are doing everything within their power to help whenever they can. The threats the Russian Government have issued to the rest of the world are indeed concerning, and we all hope these are just that, threats.
We are a completely apolitical band, and we never aimed to be in the first place. Our stance was more to catalogue the hideous human nature that committed atrocities that we as a species experienced in the past, and that we are now seeing with our very eyes, to people that we call friends, to people that showed their love to our band in the past, that now are being held hostage by a warmonger who leads young troops from the comfort of his office, to wage a vile act of aggression to a country that just wanted to have their own freedom. And this dark event in modern history is something that we aim to catalogue as well.
It is always a shame when negotiations go out of the window, to be replaced with missiles pointed to a neighbouring country, and guns pointed at the head of innocent people.
Our love goes to everyone that is being directed impacted by these war crimes that are solely perpetrated by the Russian Government, not just Vladimir Putin, but the whole Government that backs up his decisions and actions. Our love goes to all the forces of retaliation that are doing their best to help everyone that is directly affected. Our love goes to those who risk their necks in opposing their Government for attacking relentlessly the innocent people that lives on the country they declared war with.
We also seen a considerable number or artists showing their complete disapproval of Putin’s actions, bands such as Deep Purple, Rammstein, Cradle of Filth, and more recently, the Russians Slaughter to Prevail, where the band’s vocalist Alex Terrible shared a video on social media stating that they are against the conflict. His sadness and disgust over the whole situation is quite palpable in that video.
And to our Russian fans, we know you aren’t the bad guys. We know that a considerable number of Russians are against this conflict, we have seen your anti-war protests, and we know that you risk everything to stand against it. That you are the ones that are being impacted by the sanctions applied to Russia, deserving to its Government, but not to its people. All I hope is that the ones who stand and keep fighting don’t ever loose the spark and reasoning that led them to raise against their own Government, and fall in silence in the long run.
War is never a solution.
War should never be a necessity.
